Mechanics Hub · Case study
Employer-focused campaigns and a prequalification quiz helped a specialist recruiter build demand beyond a limited search market.
Mechanics Hub connects employers across North America with diesel mechanics, heavy-equipment technicians and other specialist talent. It already had a strong candidate network. But candidates alone could not drive the next stage of growth. It needed more companies looking for help hiring them.
A steady pipeline of employer clients mattered to the stability of the business and its ability to scale. Waiting for enough companies to search for recruitment support would leave too much to chance.
Google had a role to play, but search demand was low and inconsistent, and clicks were expensive. The challenge was to reach more potential clients without letting acquisition costs undermine the economics.

We made Meta a core channel for employer acquisition, rather than relying on Google to carry the pipeline.
That meant using a platform often associated with consumer advertising to reach people making hiring decisions. Targeting and creative had to work together. The message needed to attract companies with recruitment needs, not simply generate more interest from job seekers.
We focused the campaigns on the employer side of the business. Google remained part of the mix, while Meta gave us another way to create demand instead of depending only on people actively searching.
As the approach developed, a highly optimized prequalification quiz became a key part of the system. Its purpose was to bring in employers with the right needs and fit, not just collect more names. We combined the quiz with focused targeting and ad creative to keep qualified enquiries coming through at a cost that supported growth.
For Mechanics Hub, success meant building a dependable source of potential clients. We shaped the approach around that business need, rather than treating every lead as equally valuable.
The employer-focused Meta campaigns generated 41% more form enquiries year over year, while cost per enquiry fell 31%.
That meant more potential recruitment clients entering the pipeline at a lower acquisition cost. The ongoing focus on prequalification added a clear priority: make that pipeline useful to the team, not just larger.
Mechanics Hub already knew how to connect employers with specialist talent. Our role was to help more of the right employers find their way into that conversation.
